I started with this brand new collection (that I love by the way)

Here's the poster I just made.  It is a 12×18 poster and took about 15 minutes…

Of course I just did the easy part, I need to make sure I have all the picture.  I am pretty sure I do they are all in different places though, so I need to do a little searching.  This family tree takes us back to my kids great-great grandparents.  What I'll do is insert names and faces for each place holder, then I'll make 12×12 page of just faces and decoupage those to tile.  I will put a magnet on the back of each 1×1 tile.  Also, this poster I just made I'll put in a frame with sheet metal, so that everything will stick together.  It will look something like this:

Then my kids can move the magnetized tiles around and learn about their heritage.  I may just use these for Christmas gifts as well…shhhh

Yesterday I was wearing my t-shirt given me at our Heritage Makers national convention a few weeks ago.  This was our theme…

Right across the front of the shirt it says, “Lets get loud!”  After I picked up the kids from school we went to the grocery store, and my usually well behaved kids were exceptionally loud and rambunctious in the store.  Then to the next store…same thing!  When I got home, it finally dawned on me that I probably shouldn’t wear anything that says, LETS GET LOUD, any place where I want my kids to be QUIET!

Doesn't this just make you want to dive into your computer and see all the fun things that are going on at Heritage Makers? 

These are both 18×24 posters for above beds in my girls' rooms.  They should be here any day now…we are all so excited!

I put together a set of playing cards for my kids to be used mostly as rewards for being SUPER KIDS.  Then at the end of the week they can get the real rewards for being so great!   They took me just over an hour to make from scratch before I ordered.  I was quite proud of myself!

Today is our anniversary…10 years!  I cannot believe how much has changed since that day; kids, moves, deployments, job changes, and I could go on and on.  The good news is we still love each other. 

I was counting last night the years we have been together for our anniversary.  Only SIX out of the last 10, including today.  Somehow we manage to be on opposite sides of the world on this particular day!  So for our anniversary, I created a card this morning in Heritage Makers and emailed him the link to the card.  There was no way I could have mailed it this year for him to receive on time, so I did what I could. 

I have this 12×12 page decoupaged onto a tile in our front room.  It is one of my very favorites.  

Isn't he sweet?  He stole a piece of my heart almost 4 years ago…  I almost tricked you into thinking he was brand new, didn't I?  : )

More recently have fallen in love with the Heritage Makers template gallery.
Maybe I'm a little slow. It has been around for almost a year, but now
I can truly tell you that it is fantastic! This weekend I started and
finished my little boys baby book in TWO hours. It is ordered and
should be here later on this week.

Isn't that a great quote?   I don't think we stop often enough and thank our Dad's for their influence in our lives.  I remember thinking during my teen years that my dad didn't *really* know what was going on, but later I looked back and realized how much he DID know.  

One day when I was 16 or 17, I was waiting for a guy to come pick me up for a date.  I remember not really wanting my dad to even know about the guy, which should have been red flag # 1.   I briefly mentioned my date about five minutes before the pick up time, so my dad was on the watch out when the truck pulled up in the driveway.   Red flag #2 I don't think the guy honked, but he definitely didn't get out of his truck.  My dad said, "Your not going out with no honk and go."  (I know great grammer, but I still remember how he said it!)  I should've just let him sit out there, but I snuck to the side door and motioned him to come to the front door.  He wasn't planning on it!  I really am surprised that I actually went out with him because he was nothing but problems.  I was quite shocked at my laid back, easy going, dad's response, but later learned he really did know what he was talking about! 

Anyway…I'm not sure where that story came from!
